ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines -- A 6.1 magnitude quake struck Mindanao at 5:48 p.m. Thursday, a day after an 8.2 magnitude quake hit Sumatra in Indonesia. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake occurred some 47 kilometers under the surface of the earth at a point 315 km southeast of General Santos City. It was felt at Intensity 3 in General Santos and Intensity 2 in Davao City and Zamboanga City. No damage was reported.
