In a report by Luwaran.com, the MILF said that as of 2001, they have already abandoned fixed camping.

How can you overrun a camp when the MILF has totally abandoned fixed camping since 2001 in favor of highly mobile tactics," asked Khaled Musa, deputy chairman of the MILF committee on information.

"This is totally absurd and ridiculous," he added.

Musa said that with the MILF's full guerilla tactics, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is feeling the pinch in the war zone. He added that the use of highly mobile tactics against a more superior enemy is very effective, saying the MILF has the complete control of when, where, and how to fight the AFP.

The military earlier claimed that MILF camps belonging to Commander Ameril Umbra Kato were overrun by government troops after series of fierce fighting. The military also claimed to having recovered a cache of weapons, including grenade launchers, mortars, grenades, shotguns and assault rifles in a weeklong operation.

But Musa quickly denied the claim, saying it was the MILF mujahideen who captured several high-powered firearms from the Army soldiers recently.

The MILF earlier said that about ten Army soldiers have drowned in the river during an operation. But the AFP's Eastern Mindanao Command vehemently denied the report. (BOT)
