In line of the U.S. Troops’ presence in our homeland, the Bangsamoro Youth Movement Against U.S. Forces in Mindanaw, formerly known as Moro Youth Coalition Against U.S. Intervention, conducted a summit entitled “The First Ranaw-Bangsamoro Youth Leaders Summit” with the theme: “Strengthening and systematizing the defense of Bangsamoro Youth in the struggle against U.S. Troops in Mindanao,” on 12 April 2008 at Buad Agri-School, Boundary, Marawi-Marantao, Lanao del Sur.
Following the recent Medical Civic Assistance Program (MEDCAP) and Engineering Civic Assistance Program (ENCAP) conducted by U.S. Troops in some municipalities in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City , public attention has once again alarmed on the recent unexpected advent of another group of U.S. Special Forces and continued presence of the U.S. Troops in our areas.
Invitees were Thirty (30) selected young maranaw leaders from various youth organization, shools/colleges and Madrasa who shared their expertise and commitment to this endeavour and took part to this big leap of leadership towards the attainment of a free and better community, greater hopes and service to our homeland in the name of Islam.
Participants have enriched their understanding to the issues re U.S. Troops' Presence and provided with an opportunity to express their views. There was a lively discussion.
Thanks and CONGRATULATIONS to the Organizers for the job well-done and to the Thirty (30) young Maranaw Leaders for their commitment and sincerity they've shown.
