Iligan City, A bomb believed to be an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Iligan City at 9:15 last night, November 10, in Iligan City. According to civil society groups, the explosion, which occured very near the Iligan City Plaza and just about 50 meters away from the Iligan City police headquarters, injured six innocent young people, five of whom were slightly wounded and one seriously from bomb shrapnels.

The victims are identifired as Dexer Revelo, 19, Arnel Onotan, 17, John Henry Natingga, 26, Dennis Barut, 16, JR Dabustan, 14, and Lovely Rose Tecson, 15, the only female among the victims. Natingga suffered the most serious injury and had to undergo surgical operation. 

As of this writing, the identity of the culprit (s) is still a mystery. The motive for this senseless act of terrorism remains also unknown.

The bombing came almost on the eve of a big anti-Balikatan rally by Muslim and Christian civil society organizations and NGOs in Iligan City and Lanao del Norte scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 12.

The bombing took place right at the venue (Iligan City Plaza) of the planned rally. This dastardly act led many people to conclude that the bombing was perpetrated by elements which do not want the anti-Balikatan rally to proceed.

Meanwhile, other sectors of society are also apprehensive that now that the present regime is in a political turmoil as a result of the Lozada expose, bombings which will be attributed to "terrorist groups" will again wrack Mindanao to justify another war and divert public attentio

	it is sad to say that if the muslims and christiana peace loving people of the two province in lanao will not refrain themselves with a sound judgement in this cowardly act perfetrated by those individual or grouf of people who want to revived again the animosity between this loving people then the win in there devil motives,let us find those people who are responsible and birng them to justice.the people have suffered a lot during the martial era and they dont like to go by slaughtering themselves again.my prayer to those innocent bystanderwho are hurts.
