Marawi City, Philippines: The Rabitatun Nisa al-Khairiah (RNA) will deliver Udhiya/Qurbani (animal sacrifice) right after the Eid al-Adha prayer on December 19,2007 in Marawi City, Philippines.

Aleema Urfia Sarangani Ronda, RNA President, said 8 goats and one cow offered by Abdullah Alnory  from the State of Kuwait  to be slaughtered right after Eid al-Adha prayer here in Marawi  City to show gratefulness towards Allah swt.  Aleema Jamila H. Nor Panda, RNA Vice  President, said their organization will handle the distribution to selected poor and needy in the City

“we convey our express thanks and appreciation to Abdullah Alnory, our borther in Islam from Kuwait, for his religious concern and obligation to the Muslims in the Philippines. We are expecting more assistance from our Muslim brothers. “ RNA officials Said.

According to the ulama in Marawi  City, this Udhiya/Qurbani is among the Sunnah, tradition of Prophet Muhammad, that Muslims should stick and observe. Prophet Muhammad (saw) was once asked by his companions: “O Prophet of Allah! What is this Udhiya/Qurbani?” He replied, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim (as) and commemorates" (Hadith-Ibn Majah). This has been performed from the time of Ibrahim (as) and commemorates also Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son, who was replaced by an animal at the time of sacrifice. In the Qur'an, the final testament revealed for mankind, Allah says: "it is neither their flesh nor their blood that reaches Allah; it is your piety that reaches Him." (Qur'an, 22:37)

The Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of this RNA were duly approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission upon the issuance of Certificate of Incorporation in accordance with the Corporation Code of the Philippines (Batas Pambansa Blg. 68), the Officials said.
