Three Marawi fire trucks hurried, upon knowing the glare happened at around 12 noon Sunday, December 9, 2007, to Ingud Poblacion, Tugaya town in Lanao del Sur. This was learned through VHF two way radios being used as channel of communication by the Tarompong sa Ranao Radio Forum, a leading radio forum in the province.
A’lim Mahmoud Al-Barodi, a member of the Tarompong sa Ranao Radio Forum, said about 10 houses were wiped out by blaze and no reported casualties during the incidence. The fire trucks, however, did not able to arrive at the height of the flame due to the distant apart between the said town and the city. Hadj Jalal B. Datu Deleon O Ungca, Secretary General of the said Radio Forum and Police Officer In-Charge Chief of Piagapo town, said the necessitate for the Bureau of Fire Protection in Marawi City and Lanao del Sur to advertise their hot lines so they will be informed on time by responsible individuals, agencies and organizations as well as the law enforcers in case of emergency.
