The rocky , divisive barangay elections is still not yet at an end. December 15 is special elections in Lanao del Sur. Expect more money even gun shots to hit the airwaves.

Regional Governor’s Monday State of the Region Address (SORA)  rocked by bomb blasts in Cotabato a day before . Warning signs like that of Rep. Wahab Akbar’s end at the House?

Shooting also in Governor’s house here in Marawi City. No injuries, said the DILG. Different angles looked at whether internal or political . Mahirap ang propesyong pulitika, buhay nakataya!

COMELEC’s legal head Alioden Dalaig’s death is still shrouded in mystery. Why carry 300,000 pesos near a casino? Can we ask for some information from the mayors and other politicians who dealt with him?
Public Attorney’s Office (PAO)  head Avecina Alonto is frustrated with Lanao’s justice. Gone were the days he said when his grandfather Ahmad Alonto, founder of the Mindanao State University, discredited kamBANGSA so that all Maranaos and Christians alike are treated equally .

Thanks to University Santo Tomas Red CROSS for donating 184 volumes of Supreme Court publication of decisions to PAO-ARMM.

Condolences to NPC Vice President for Mindanao Pasayud Macarambon on the death of his 84 year old father. The NPC staff all in red uniform were complete in attendance in the  Iligan home of his brother.

When would the new LASURECO management through the NPC take over? Ugong ugong palang usapan just how our lights in Marawi City and Lanao are, urong sulong. Saw IMERGG’s Lax Dalidig, Sultan Asghar Sani and lawyer Masorong at the CDO airport to which SAni said, there are no changes because they will try to stop it.

Also saw Agus 3 contractors former Governor Saidamen Pangarungan in CDO (to meet with Chinese investors reportedly.)

Amerul Hajj is Labor Commissioner Salic Dumarpa, husband of Congresswoman Faysa Dumarpa. New Hajj attaché is OMA Assistant Secretary Solaiman Mutia of Lanao del Norte. Continuing the tradition of Maranaos leading the Hajj operations because as it is, more than 90 percent of pilgrims are Maranaos anyway (3000 of the 4000 pilgrims this this year) . The number of Hajj pilgrims  is an all-time high with the dollar so low. Expect more pasalubongs!

Boardmember Che Balindong updates that President Gloria Arroyo (PGMA) met about 30 Moro administration politicians  in a caucus in Malacanang last week and proclaimed support for RG Ampatuan (or was it the dad Governor ANDAL) in next year’s September ARMM elections.

But how about PGMA’s “promise” to the MILF that there might be no elections at all next year ?  Doublespeak?

Double peace agreement. How about dealing with the MNLF and the MILF? Nakakaconfuse. Who and what will be followed – the 1996 GRP-MNLF peace pact or an upcoming peace pact?

TESDA Director Tarhata Mapandi suggests more jobs for qualified Maranaos at the PBSP Job Internship Fair at Ayala, Wednesday. A DTI official on the other hand says ain’t it possible for these companies hiring Muslim interns to ABSORB them in the end?

A regular Weekly Moro Notes regarding current events in Filipino Muslim areas should be maintained by the Webmaster in this forum especially those important notes not seen in TVs and printed in national dailies to make this forum lively and informative.
Our comments:

We hope the New Commissioner Moslemen Macarambon can inject some innovations on how the special elections be different from previous ones. He had promised to introduce reforms. We hope that he will not be"eaten up" by the wrong electoral system in the ARMM.
The usual SORA, as expected, are all lots of promises. Until and unless graft and corruption plaguing the ARMM governance and the electoral processes are honestly addressed to by the ARMM leadership, it will still be a failure of governance.
Re Alioden Dalaigs mysterious death has many angles, one of which is pointed to Bedol. Bedol is now missing and may had been silenced. He has reportedly complained to the elder Andal about his protection and his impending arrest and was promised to wait for some developments before Dalaig's death.
NPC VP Pas Macarambon's mother died lately and not the father who died long time ago. She is the mother of former MSU Regent Farouk Macarambon, now a big time contractor.
The new Lasureco Management to be installed by NEA due to apparent usual anomalies and failure of Lasureco to solve the dancing lights will take over November 28, 2007, headed by Sultan Ashari Maongco, a borrowed employee of NPC. A TRO was applied by the Interim Board and if granted ,will be served before November 28. It is a delaying tactics at the expense of the residents of Lanao del Sur and Marawi City. Napaka kapal at garapal!
The group of Ex gov Saide Pangarungan and former NPC VP Gonzaga to construct under the BOT Law the AGUS III Hydro Plant to be named as Lanao Hydro may be financed by the Chinese government at a tune of $300 Million dollars. I think there problem is the sovereign guarantee that the loan will be paid. There is an assurance of its market as NPC made an agreement with Lanao Hydro to buy all produced electricity, but subject to the approval of the ERC.
Re ARMM election next year, the old unlettered Andal will replace the high school graduate son as Regional Governor. Their problem is the impending take over of the MILF of the reigns of the ARMM Leadership if a peace agreement is signed by the middle of 2008. Also, it is reported that the US is not satisfied with the performance of the younger Andal and Lakas is floating the name of Sec. Nasser Pangandaman as possible Malacanang candidate for RG if the MILF gambit will fail.
It is reported that the 1996 MNLF-GRP Peace Agreement will be merged with the MILF-GRP agreement especially those provisions not implemented. Another" akal" in the making?
